Review of the Jug 313 trainers after 2 weeks of wearing them.
I'll be the first to put my hand up and say I have bought skateboarding trainers in the past, with a couple still in my cupboard. But over the past couple of years there's been an increase in shoes created by Inline manufacturers, and good quality ones too!
I waited for these shoes, the Jug High Top 313, with eager anticipation; with the mixture of Jug's softness and strength from their liner technology and the styling I had seen in photos, these shoes were going to be good.
And I wasn't disappointed! The attention to detail on the shoe is crazy, far more than any other I've had. The stitch work and edge on the tongue, the layers that build up the outside, the small stitched logo on the back, down to the small plastic 'Jug' on the side, build up the character of this shoe. I particularly like the ribbed style top to the Jug trainer. The colours chosen work extremely well, the blue really stands out. At a time where colour seems to be everywhere in skating, these are perfect.
Then if that wasn't enough, when worn they are so comfortable! Jug's knowledge from their skating liners has really been passed on to their trainers. After 2 weeks of wearing them I don't want to take them off, but we have just had new carpet fitted. Though I can't comment on how hard wearing these trainers are after only 2 weeks, the materials used are top quality and feel like they are going to last.
The only downside I can say about these trainers is the base. Not the colour, styling or grip, which are all excellent, but the stiffness. When walking I have found the base to be a bit stiff and feel my heel slipping away from the shoe because they can't flex fully. I'm sure though that the base will ease up over time.
Overall these trainers from Jug are the best trainers I have bought in a long time and the highest quality ones too!
So going back to my first point, it is now time to get out all those old skateboarding trainers that you sometimes wear or still wear, set them a light and keep yourself warm on these cold days were having, whilst ordering online or calling up your favourite skater owned/skater run shop and get yourselves some inline made trainers. And you won't go far wrong with the high quality Jug High Top 313!
